Prince Albert
Although the wedding of Prince Albert with Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon is not to take place until April 26, wedding gifts are beginning to pour in.
The King is presenting the young couple with a complete set of house- hold silver, comprising hundreds of pieces. The Queen is giving jewels to her prospective daughter-in-law. The Prince of Wales' gift to the future bride is a set of sables, composed of the rarest and finest pelts. The blushing bridegroom will present his prospective spouse with a bracelet adorned with gems. From an unknown source comes a cheque for -L-2,500, which is now being distributed in London, Glasgow, York, Cardiff and Belfast for the purpose of giving poor children a good time on the wedding day.
