Sir Stanley's Purse

On the Westchester-Biltmore course, Hagen and Sarazen, present and past open champions, were defeated in match and medal play in two days of special golf for the Sir Stanley Cochrane Purse by Jock Hutchison and Jim Barnes, champions of England and America respectively in 1921. Hagen and Sarazen sailed two days later to shoot for the British open title at Troon.
