In Leavenworth (Kan.) Penitentiary, expert now at needlework sits Dr. Frederick Albert Cook, self-proclaimed but discredited "discoverer" of the North Pole (1908). Last week Dr. Cook was reported "in such a bad mental and physical state" that he might never finish his term (begun early this year) of from 1 to 14 years for oil-stock fraud.
