V-Mail

In the opinion of the War Department, mail ranks second only to food as a buck-you-uppo for morale. On ration trains, mail goes to the troops right along with food. But cargo space is priceless. Last week the War Department, taking a tip from the British, decided to speed mail deliveries by photographing batches of letters on microfilm and flying them to world-scattered bases. There the letters, to be known as "V-Mail," will be turned into enlarged prints before delivery.
